The Ghana Education Service (GES) has come out officially to declare its position on the controversies surrounding the writing of lesson notes.
In a press release published on its Facebook Page, GES said that lesson notes should be prepared, vetted and approved, whether manually or electronically it should be an agreement between the teacher and their supervisor.
GES also stated that the lesson notes can also be typed and printed out.
Regarding the feasibility of phasing out the manual preparation of lesson notes in view of the one teacher one laptop policy, GES stated it will be discussed at the appropriate time when all teachers have received their laptops.
The era where lesson notes will not be written manually (Paper and Pen) is getting near. Rather, it will be written electronically or printed out. This will soon happened as a result of the one teacher one laptop policy.
Looking at the way GES has been forced to declare their position on the controversies surrounding lesson notes preparation, phasing out of manual lesson notes preparation is eminent, especially when all teachers received their laptops.
Below is the press statement elaborating on their position and other issues raised by NAGRAT.
