Some teachers in some schools in the country cannot teach or are not teaching or find it difficult to teach simply because they don’t have textbooks for the new curriculum. It is not their fault. Some teachers also cannot access the internet to research on the new curriculum due to reasons beyond their control. Perhaps the curriculum itself is just a bone without the textbook which is the flesh.
For how long will teachers and pupils wait for textbooks and other teaching and learning resources to be able to cope with teaching effectively.
Why should innocent children and teachers suffer because of government poor implementation of a new curriculum.
If government wasn't ready why can’t it push the implementation forward for textbooks to be printed first before the implementation.
It’s so serious that a whole country like Ghana is running its education in try and error manner. It’s of wonder that a country of officials, learned people and stakeholders in education can look on and see the education system been run in a way that is a shame to its citizens, teachers, government and educationists.
However there is no news as to if there are efforts being made to print textbooks, no effort is being made to that effect.
This is the Ghana of jeopardized education.
